An Invitation

Welcome to the new web-address of the Benson Global Methodist Church! We may have a new name, but our Methodism is deeply rooted in the Benson community. In 2023, we celebrate 125 years of missional work in Johnston County and beyond. We’re glad you’re here. But we want to do more than simply welcome you. We want to offer you an invitation. What’s the difference between a welcome and an invitation?  

An invitation is more than a greeting. An invitation is a deliberate request for someone’s presence. Invitations are motivated by purpose and intention. 

This is your invitation – not just to visit our church but to come and find out who Jesus Christ is. 

Our conviction, as members of the Benson Global Methodist Church, is to serve as a beacon for Jesus Christ so that all the world might know these three simple truths:

God is real. God loves you.
God can be known.

We are a 21 st Century congregation – a neat mix of ages and stages of people in love with Jesus Christ who remains “the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 

We want Jesus to be at the center of everything connected to the life of our church. Anyone who takes us up on our invitation to come will be welcomed because we’re friendly like that. Anyone who responds to Jesus’ invitation to come, full disclosure, you’ve got to be ready to see your life transformed by Him. 

You won’t be alone because your journey of transformation does not walk in isolation from others. The journey of grace is a Spirit-led caravan. We’re not an independent church; we are a connected, Global Methodist community. We happen to meet in Benson, NC, but no matter where you call home – you are invited to join us on this pilgrimage as we respond together to the calling of God. 

This website is part of your invitation – a way to start the conversation with us. Feel free to look around, but there is no substitute for in-person, in-gathered worship. As you learn a bit about our church’s story, we look forward to learning more about yours.
